Vibration Meter (Handheld)
Measurements are displayed on a vivid display that can be seen in low light to direct sunshine, making it simple to set up and operate. SKF @ptitude Exchange also offers free on-line training.
Time is saved by measuring Velocity, Enveloped Acceleration, and temperature at the same time.

The rechargeable SKF Machine Condition Advisor is efficient, affordable, and ecologically friendly, running for 10 hours on a single charge.

Both novice and professional users can now verify the condition of rotating equipment throughout your facility with ease, speed, and accuracy. Equipping your maintenance and operations staff with this tough, ergonomic, and simple-to-use equipment can help detect possible machine issues before they become costly failures.

With a single instrument, you can take many measurements.

The SKF Machine Condition Advisor calculates an overall “Velocity” vibration reading by measuring machine vibration signals and comparing them to pre-programmed International Organization for Standardization (ISO) norms. When measurements surpass certain guidelines, a “Alert” or “Danger” alarm appears. Simultaneously, a “Enveloped Acceleration” measurement is performed and compared to established bearing vibration parameters in order to confirm conformance or identify potential bearing damage.

To detect atypical heat, the SKF Machine Condition Advisor uses an infrared sensor to evaluate temperature.

Accuracy, adaptability, and assurance

The acceleration sensor input signal from the SKF Machine Condition Advisor is processed during measurements to produce two different measures for each POINT on the machinery: overall velocity and enveloped acceleration. The non-contact infrared sensor on the SKF Machine Condition Advisor monitors the surface temperature of the measurement spot at the same time and displays all three measurement data at the same time.

The front-panel LCD concurrently displays: depending on the SKF Machine Condition Advisor’s System setting:

Metric or English units
Peak Temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit derived from Velocity in mm/s RMS or IPS

It’s simple and quick the first time and every time.

To turn the SKF Machine Condition Advisor “On,” press the “Select” or “Browse” button.
Place the sensor tip against the measurement spot.
To keep the reading, press the “Select” button once the readings have stabilized.
Read the measurement values and make a note of them.

Understanding and using vibration guidelines

The SKF Machine Condition Advisor allows you to assess machine health using ISO 10816-3 recommendations and to assess bearings using generic guidelines derived from statistical analysis of existing databases.

How to pick the right “Alarm Velocity Group” for your equipment

The instrument’s “overall vibration” alarm limitations are determined by the Alarm Velocity Group (G2&4 or G1&3). As a result, choose the Group that best describes the machinery being measured in terms of general size, kind, and speed. It’s worth noting that these machine group categories are based on ISO 10816-3, which assigns overall velocity vibration levels to established machinery classifications.

The following types of machinery are classified as ISO Group 2 and 4:
Medium-sized and electrical machines with shaft heights ranging from 160 to 315 mm (6.3 and 12.4 in.).
These machines usually have rolling element bearings, although they can also have sleeve bearings and run at speeds above 600 r/min.
Pumps with multi-vane impellers and integrated drivers are among these equipment.
The first and third groups

The following types of machinery are classified as ISO Group 1 and 3:
Electrical machines and large machinery with a shaft height of more than 315 mm (12.4 in.).
These machines usually use sleeve bearings, although they can also have rolling element bearings.
Pumps with multi-vane impellers and integrated drivers are among these equipment.
